Meet Dr. Salkin
Dr. Ruth A. Salkin has been a practicing optometrist in the Westwood/Washington Township area for more than 30 years and is dedicated to providing the absolute best care to every patient. She treats people of all ages and takes the time in each appointment to check for ocular health, clarity of vision, coordination of binocular vision, and the effect of visual fatigue on overall performance.
Dr. Salkin is licensed to treat common ocular diseases such as:
- Glaucoma
- Conjunctivitis
- Uveitis
- Scleritis
- Chronic recurrent corneal erosion
- Styes
- Blepharitis
- Allergies
- Injuries such as foreign body removal, and traumatic eye injuries.
She is a specialist in the areas of corneal degenerations, dry eye syndrome, and muscle imbalances - and she can design specialty contact lenses for corneal degeneration, for presbyopia, for extremely myopic or astigmatic patients, or one in need of bifocal contact lenses.
Dr. Salkin takes pride in offering pro bono services including providing exams for athletes at the Special Olympics for over 15 years and serving the past 4 years as president of the board of IKan, a non-profit organization for providing services for developing challenged adults and children.
